The Connecticut Kings Baseball Program is a high school and college baseball preparatory program.
The foundation of the Kings is our coaching staff of experienced varsity baseball coaches with a combined 100 years of baseball experience, many of whom are all full time educators. Our other coaches and trainers have dedicated years to learning the game of baseball to best prepare players for the mental and physical challenges of the game and provide the plan and technology to maximize each player's skill set, resume and potential.
Kings Baseball is a competitive and developmental baseball program for players ages 12-18. Kings Baseball strives to provide the process it takes to get to the next level in your baseball careers through development that concentrates on the physical, mental and athletic approach to playing high school and college baseball. We will provide the opportunity for players to develop and learn from experienced high school coaches and compete at the level that best suits each player’s skill level. Our "Showcase" teams will prepare for and participate in competitive tournaments and attend showcases to expose them to college coaches. Our developmental teams will play competitive games and tournaments while concentrating on the education and skill development.
Kings Baseball offers a year round approach to preparing your son for success on and off the baseball diamond. We encourage our players to participate in other sports and we are committed to creating an off season workout schedule that supports these other pursuits.
Education, Development, Evaluation, Competition and Exposure
Education: It is important for Kings Baseball to educate the player and his family on what it takes to get to the next level of baseball. We will educate you year round on the steps each player needs to take to make his high school team, play in college and to reach his highest potential. We will be working with college recruiters to educate players and parents on the process of college recruiting.
Development: Player development is our primary focus at all levels. We pride ourselves on teaching the game of baseball to best prepare players to take the field with confidence and be able to showcase talents and baseball knowledge of the game. Unlike traditional AAU teams, we dedicate more time to focus on actual player development and players’ skills. Heightened practices and training sessions are held weekly, providing our coaches and trainers with an opportunity to actually coach, and enhance each player’s craft. Training & practices will take place both inside and outside. With the added benefit of the training facility at CT Sports Arena, no practice or training session will be cancelled due to weather. Working in conjunction with PBA (Professional Baseball Academy), players will be able to work out year-round, enhancing their skills as well as their physical attributes (strength/conditioning/agility/speed/explosiveness).
Evaluation: What skills do you possess as a player, what are your strengths and weaknesses? Honest assessment and evaluation using experienced eyes from coaches as well as the latest technology are the basis of our feedback to each player. We currently use the Rapsodo Hitting and Rapsodo Pitching machines to record player metrics. These are vital to communicating to college coaches who need true data to evaluate when they are unable to see a player live. Consistent evaluation also tracks progress and holds the player accountable for working towards his pre-set goals. Areas of evaluation for each player will be 1) Speed 2) Arm strength 3) Hitting ability 4) Hitting power - exit velocity 5) Baseball IQ and knowledge of the game 6) Defense and Fielding based upon his position(s). The collection of this data can be helpful for players looking to play at the next level.
Competition: Our players are selected and placed on teams based upon ability and progress throughout the year. We believe it is important to challenge each player with competitive games and tournaments. Our coaches will work together to best place each player and push players to understand the level they need to be to compete at their respective age groups.
Exposure: For our higher level high school players we strive to provide events, tournaments and showcases where players will play in front of college scouts. We continue to use our network of coaches to connect to the pulse of college baseball.
Below is an outline of our Fall and Winter 2020 options, as well as our Spring and Summer 2021 options including our teams, off season conditioning, strength and speed training and college recruiting. We have tailored our program to each age group to showcase your sons at the right time to best perform in front of college and high school coaches throughout their career.
